Train / Railroad Lamps

Amglo continues to lead in Halogen and LED technology for the railroad and commuter rail industry. Amglo’s PAR halogen and LED A19 Lamp series continue to be the most reliable offering in the industry.  Our PAR series provides, a wide range of operating temperature, focused beam angle improving light down the track, 4x the life of over incandescent, consistent output throughout lamp life and vibration resistant. Our most recent introduction the LED A19 lamp.  The Amglo lamp is interchangeable installation on diesel and electric locomotives.  The LED A19 provides a wide range of operating temperature, a wide range beam angle of 270 degrees, meets and exceeds EMI standard S-9401, PVC/Acrylic construction for improved heat distribution, light weight construction, CCT of 6,000K, 50,000 life unique fail open design. All products FRA approved and compliant, and are 100% Q.C. inspected.

Specific Lamp Uses

Headlight

Illuminating the track ahead for ideal visibility and proper locomotive operation as well as allowing easy identification for pedestrians and motorists.

Step Light

Lighting for various areas of the locomotive including walkways, stairways , steps, platforms and electrical  cabinets.

Ditch / Auxiliary Light

Low mounted headlights which illuminate the ditches on the sides of the right of way not normally illuminated by the headlight beam.

Number Light

Illuminates the locomotive road number for the purpose of identification by other trains for right of way and track maintenance personnel.

Engine Room Light

Illuminate the areas of the engine room help and assist the locomotive engineer in servicing, troubleshooting and overall visibility of instrumentation locomotive operation

PAR SERIES LOCOMOTIVE LAMP

Amglo continues to lead in Halogen and LED technology for the railroad industry. Amglo’s PAR halogen series has proven to be the most reliable offering in the industry.  Our PAR series provides:

  • A wide range of operating temperature (-40F to 158F) provides operating flexibility in deploying your locomotive anywhere in the US or Canada. The benefit -increased uptime and reduced maintenance costs.
  • Focused beam angle of 10 degrees improves light down the track for improved safety and visibility
  • Increased bulb life over incandescent 4,000 hours versus 500 hours reduces replacement and improves operating cost
  • Amglo lamp maintains candela output throughout lamp life. Unlike the incandescent version which loses light output as the lamp ages.
  • Amglo’s rugged design withstands vibration conditions better than the Incandescent Lamp. The benefit -increased uptime and reduced maintenance costs.

ALL PURPOSE LED LOCOMOTIVE LAMP

Our most recent introduction the LED A19 lamp.  The Amglo lamp is interchangeable installation on diesel and electric locomotives. The Amglo LED A19 lamp offers the following unique benefits:

  • Wide range of operating temperature (-40F to 158F) provides operating flexibility in deploying your locomotive in the anywhere in the US or Canada. This is especially beneficial when lighting is used in the engine room compartment of the locomotive.  The benefit -increased uptime and reduced maintenance costs.
  • Wide range beam angle of 270 degrees improves light distribution throughout the locomotive for improved safety and visibility
  • Meets and exceeds EMI standard S-9401 eliminates radio transmission interruption improving productivity and safety operation
  • PVC/Acrylic construction improves heat distribution without the need for heavy aluminum materials equating to longer bulb life, increased uptime and lower operating costs keeping your locomotive on the track and out of the shop
  • Lighter weight construction (only 98 grams /.22 lbs.) means less vibration and less likely to come loose in the fixture resulting in overall locomotive uptime, productivity and improved service
  • CCT of 6,000K provides brighter whiter light making the Amglo A19 one of the brightest bulbs on the market creating improved visibility and operating safety
